Ferrari – History of an Italian Automotive Legend
11th January 2009
Enzo Ferrari introduced this world to a whole era of style and fashion when it comes to driving in class in 1947 in Maranello, Italy, thanks to his car manufacturing company Ferrari S.p.A. After struggling financially for more than 2 decades, he sold his sports car division to the Fiat group in 1969.
The first ever Ferrari to roll out of the Ferrari S.p.A manufacturing unit in 1947 was the 1947 125 S. Enzo Ferrari’s lifelong dream was to see his cars on the race tracks, that too winning. This dream came true in 1949 when Luigi Chinetti drove a Ferrari 166M to its first win in motorsports. Ever since that, his Ferrari cars were winning races continuously until the late 1960s. Scuderia Ferrari which was Enzo Ferrari’s founding company in 1927 didn’t manufacture cars back then saw the Ferrari team’s first win in the 1951 British Grand Prix.
Until 2007, the Ferrari team’s records have 15 World Drivers Championship titles. Now-a-days, the horse in the motif of Ferrari is a symbol of status and high class which symbolizes power. When it comes to cars the name Ferrari is something that creates inspiration. The name Ferrari is synonymous with the world of expensive cars worldwide. The Ferrari is not just a car; it is a legend in the history of automobiles, which defines speed and class. All the Ferraris have earned a name in the history of sport cars, a name that doesn’t die out with time, but only glows brighter with every passing year.
