Hints went into the mill after the interview of Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa with Autocar. Before, Ferrari was looking into using V6 to maximize its fuel economy and performance, the V6 plan looks definite but how Ferrari will approach the change is not that clear.

According to Felisa, the use of V6 powerplants on the stallions from the Ferrari stable was not viable even a year ago but their customer base has a change of attitude making the use of V6 possible in 20 years.

A lot of people might think the a V6 cannot deliver a supercar performance, just like how the engine of a Nissan GT-R is incomparable to the V8 4.5L engine of the 458 Italia. Nonetheless, Ferrari has superb engineering and a twin-turbo V6 may just give you the zoom and broom you are looking for from a supercar while being more fuel efficient.

Fuel economy without sacrificing power is not new in Ferrari with direct injection technology being used for the Ferrari California and possibly for other models as well.

A V6 Ferrari discussion will not be complete without mentioning the Dino 206 and the Dino 246 designed by the son of Enzo Ferrari. The Dino 206 was able to output 160 horsepower while sporting a 2.0L engine while the 246 was able to jack it up at 175 horsepower in the United States. The European version of the 246 was able to bring out 195 horsepower.

Ferrari may not go towards the Dino direction but if ever it will, it might be through the its mother company Fiat.

The association of Chrysler to Fiat brings some rumors that it might be using a V10 Ferrari derived engine for the next generation of the Dodge Viper. It will definitely be a welcome

Just a few months back, Chrysler was trying to get rid of the Dodge Viper brand as bankruptcy loomed dark on its future. The attempt to sell the brand only got a single bid from the low end amounting to $5.5 million. The top executive of Chrysler wants the brand to live on and run on a Ferrari power plant.

The reports are unofficial still though but the Dodge Viper getting more raw power might transform the brand into a powerhouse which can redefine the lineup of Dodge in the current competitive market.

The V10 on the drawing boards will be an extension of the V8 from the Fiat line up. The Viper will be having a crossbreed with cylinder banks on 90 degrees, valves actuated by pushrods, but not having the same flat crank like that in the Ferrari.

The original Viper V10 was derived from the results of cooperation with Lamborghini. Another tie up with an Italian car maker like Ferrari may help to light the way to better sales figure for the Dodge Viper.

What the current Dodge Viper has in its engine bay is no joke at all. It has a 600hp V10 with 8.4L displacement. The SRT10 ACR runs around the Nurburgring 4 seconds faster than the Nissan GT-R or Corvette ZR1.

Most people will just drool over a Ferrari and will think the performance of the red stallion is perfect. The handling of the Ferrari most of the time satisfies the consumers. Going for higher standards the Italian car maker created the HGTE or Handling GT Evoluzione.

The handling package was first revealed during the Geneva auto show last March. This week the Ferrari 599’s handling was put into test by none other than legendary Michael Schumacher who’s on the pedestal for winning the F1 championship seven times.

The HGTE is engineered to give the Ferrari owner a more dynamic and sporty driving experience. The package includes modifications on the springs, calibration of the shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, and lowering of the ride height.

Schumacher took the 599 for a 20 lap drive in Fiorano. The record of the Ferrari 599 in the circuit is recorded at 1 minute and 26.5 seconds. That is really considered a fast lap taking into consideration the record of the F40 which is 3.1 seconds slower. The F430 and the F50 take 3.6s more to finish a lap.

The lap times of Schumacher were not released but the car was tested as part of the company’s Pilota driving courses. The courses are designed for Ferrari owners skills to handle their cars to its full potentials without sacrificing safety both on the race track and the road.

The Pilota driving course is offered in several levels— Challenge, Evolution, Advanced, and Basic. An On Ice training is given in certain countries like Italy, Japan, China, and the U.S.

The rights for the last Ferrari F430 that will roll out from the assembly line was conducted last May. The unit will be customized with a two tone paint in the color shade of Aquila, the most devastated city during the last earthquake.

The winning bidder will be getting a signed certificate and a dedication plate. The owner will also have the privilege of choosing from the catalogue of Carrozzeria Scaglietti to further customize the Ferrari. The last F430 is due for release before the end of 2009.

The F430 was born in 2004 and served as the DNA for derivatives like the Spider convertible and the Scuderia. There were also race versions of the Ferrari F430.

It succeeded the 360 Moderna which reigned the Ferrari garage since 1999. The F430 and the 360 Modena shared several components including its aluminum body.

The next car after the F430 is in the works and will be dubbed the F450. The production version of this new car from Ferrari will take the spotlight during the motor show in Frankfurt Germany this coming September. The official launch will soon follow.

The next F450 will be powered by a V8 4.5L engine which has an output between 550 and 585 horse power. The powertrain will be coupled with a seven speed transmission with dual clutch. It will also make use of energy recovery through its brake system.

Minor adjustments to improve the throttle response have been done to the speed demon’s V12’s software with its 611 horsepower. The retuned F1 transmission is now capable for even faster shifts.

To elevate the new kick-ass 599s with its GTE package, the modified 599s bear new grilles, special wheels, and a matte black rear diffuser. Of course, even the interior has been improved with its two-tone seats and carbon fiber trims.

The improved V12 now produces 700 horsepower while the new transmission can change gears in a matter of 60 milliseconds.

Little girls dreamed that they were behind the wheel of the sleek, sensual sport car instead of their Barbie dolls.

Little boys coveted Ken’s ability to be able to hop in the driver’s side and take off whenever he wanted. The Ferrari is luxury personified – just like Las Vegas is luxury epitomized. So, if you are visiting this infamous, decadent city, why not put two and two together and rent a Ferrari in Las Vegas?

Do not go thinking that this is out of your league. Unless you look around, you will never believe how easy it is to rent a Ferrari in Las Vegas – and to do it without breaking your bank account or dipping into your vacation fund. There are tons of ways to get great deals on Las Vegas exotic Car Rentals, and that includes fantastic discounts on luxury vehicles and sports cars. For instance, sometimes your hotel or the casino at which you are playing will comp your car rental. Other times, you can even get special deals through your credit card. The point is, if you are willing to look around for the best deals, you can be purring around Vegas in your very own rental Ferrari sooner than you think.

If we may suggest one, a Ferrari F430 Rental Car in Vegas is SO HOT!

Ferrari, as the name indicates, is synonymous with the need for speed. That too, for the ones who love to be driving an Italian masterpiece of art, speed and power combined to form an intricate web of grandeur and grace. The Ferrari has been a symbol of power and wealth for just over six decades.

Starting with the Ferrari 1947 125 S, all its descendents have been creating a name for themselves both on the racing track as well as the hearts of everyone that uses them. The Ferrari joined the Formula One World Championship in its very first year of existence. It also got its very own first victory on the 1951 British Grand Prix. Until 2007 team Ferrari has won themselves an astounding 15 World Drivers Championship titles since 1952. Their victories don’t stop just there; they also won 15 World Constructors Championship titles since 1961. 201 Grand Prix victories is something worth bragging about as well.

All those victories were made possible starting with the Ferrari 166M driven by Luigi Chinetti back in 1949 where the Ferrari made history in motorsports. The Ferrari’s victories on every race tracks all over the world were thanks to the pedigree cars manufactured initially by Enzo Ferrari himself. Later on, the legacy of the Ferrari was carried on by the Fiat group which bought Ferrari S.p.A from Enzo Ferrari in 1969 because he was struggling financially. Even after Enzo Ferrari’s death in 1988 when he was 90 years old, the “Prancing Horse” has been creating strides through the portal of time with its pedigree racing Ferraris.

This Ferrari Special Edition Scuderia Spider 16M is the ever so drop dead gorgeous Ferrari F430 Scuderia with a missing roof. Well… Yes, it is. It’s got a few added gizmos like badges stating that’s it a limited edition and a built-in Ipod Touch (WHY?) that fits right into the dash — but other than that they pretty much look and feel the same…

The 16 stands for the 16th F1 win as a constructor — but I’m assuming that’s just a consolation prize after losing the F1 championship to British Lewis Hamilton.

Anyways, no reason for too much criticism, it’s a good looking convertible ferrari and I’m sure it’ll be a great drive. Expect the price range to be well over $300,00, though…

Supercars don’t satisfy everyone at first try. If this is you opinion about your Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, a Novitec Rosso dealer has something to boost the 620 horsepower machine to a raging 808 horsepower.

Novitec Rosso has been making super race horses with its tuning packages for Ferraris. Its newest release is a Bi-Kompressor kit to boost the power plant of the 6.0L V12 of the 599.

The addition will help the Ferrari 599 Fiorano to blaze from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. Catching the 599 will also be difficult as it reaches its top speed of 211 mph in merely 9.7 seconds. The maximum torque of the conversion is at 607 lb-ft.

The tag for the bi-kompressor kit from Novitec Rosso is around $60,000. These superchargers are cogged-belt driven and are engineered for top performance boost of 0.39 bars.

Aside from this kit Novitec Rosso can enhance the stock car to perform better with other professional tuning equipment they have in their garage.

Novitec Rosso also designed a front spoiler lip that will be affixed to the bumper to help keep the car on the ground. The rear portion of the car can be enhanced with a diffuser and a spoiler.

The German company also designed panels which help in the aerodynamics as air passes in between the wheel houses. These also allow cooling of the rear brakes.

The body can be further improved with the carbon fiber options prepared for the 599. There are also available side markers, black tail light, LED brake, and LED reverse lights.

Pirelli and Novitec Rosso also collaborated to have a top performance alloy wheels for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.

In a world with growing environmental concern, any good car manufacturer would want to give an environment friendly masterpiece, and Ferrari also has done their part in that regard. On their 60th anniversary, Ferrari unveiled the Ferrari FXX Millechili presentation vehicle. As the name “Millechili” suggests the car does weigh only 1,000 kilograms, which is very less for a symbol of power. This is the first car of its kind to show the world that Ferrari is ready to enter the future with a whole new concept of saving the environment.

The Ferrari FXX Millechili shockingly has a cardboard and plastic exoskeleton with a carbonfibre frame construction with aerodynamic enhancements. Hence, even though the Ferrari FXX Millechili is light, it can also maintain its reputation as a mean machine of speed. It not only cares about the environment but also has an adjustable steering wheel and a pedal box for the comfort of the driver. The present version of the Ferrari FXX Millechili has got wheels made only of paper, so as of now it hasn’t landed on the roads yet, but that day isn’t far away — a day for a real environmentally friendly car by Ferrari…

With its present structure, it can very easily hold a V8 or V12 engine and looks exactly like a smaller version of the Enzo. According to the brains of the Ferrari people, they plan to use a hybrid car system by simply adding electrical assistance to the petrol engine and not just propelling the future of the Ferrari using electric power alone. The idea of an eco-friendly Ferrari is to be used in the future F1 cars. So it can very well be said that the Ferrari is going green, not with envy, but with the hopes of making this world a better place to live for our children.
